Miss Delahunt became Mrs. O'Brien and she taught Latin and Greek (though not simultaneously - mercifully for my endocrinologically addled brain). I will remember her for declaiming to the late Justin O'Dea one day, that if she was as stupid as he was she would kill herself.
I do remember wondering at the time if this was the stereotypical "Greek Tragedy", even though it was Latin class. She caught him reading his neatly pencilled English translation of Ovid over the original Latin text (from a book he had the acumen to purchase from Greene's)and as she tried to wound him thus, the tears rolled down her cheeks.
I thenceforth mentally labelled her as a nutter, and resolved to become a psychosexual psychotherapist, and I did, so there.
Amen.
